Why did Brian Smile?

​

The main reason that Brian smiled was because he had a relationship with Jesus. Brian’s joy came from knowing his loving savior, Jesus. His smile was not just a personality trait or an overly optimistic attitude. Brian’s smile came from knowing he was loved by Jesus, the Son of God and creator of the universe. Brian was not perfect; he had sinned, and he felt the brokenness of the world. Yet, Brian’s hope was in the fact that before the God has a plan to redeem and fix the brokenness of life. He believed that God sent his Son, Jesus into the world to live the perfect life that not even Brian was able to live. Though he was tempted, Jesus did not sin and did not rebel against God. Jesus loved everyone and chose to give of himself and die in order that we may have life. Jesus took the place of Brian on the cross. Jesus died, but he didn’t stay dead. Just as he had foretold, three days later, Jesus rose from the grave, defeating sin, defeated death. Jesus rose in victory and invites all who would trust in him to participate in his life. Brian trusted in Jesus knowing that in the resurrection of Jesus, Brian had life. Brian lived his life knowing that he has a forever relationship with Jesus. When Brian passed, he was ushered into heaven where he gets to live in the presence of Jesus, smiling forever.

Brian’s main goal in life was to share the life and joy that he has in Jesus with everyone he met. He knew that his life had been changed by Jesus and he wanted to share this good news about Jesus with everyone. Brian wanted everyone around him to see Jesus and commit their lives to the joy of following him. We can all have the same joy, same hope, same purpose that Brian had because this joy, hope, and purpose is not tied up into a personality but in a person. In Jesus.
